Gone are the days of going out to celebrate the New Year. My husband and I stayed home last night and made a fancy dinner (fancy to OUR cooking standards). I decided to make it extra special by making a deeeeeeeelish chocolate cake. That would be the perfect treat to go with our champs (which would be champagne for all the non fancy folk).
So I purchased a box of cake mix (because look, cooking isn’t my thing, so you ain’t gettin no fancy cake with hand mixed ingreidents, so take it or leave it). Annnnnnnnd after the outcome, you should probably leave it.
That picture, that would be the cake I made. Yes, I let it cool for two hours. Yes, I tried cutting the edges off. And THAT, is what I came out with. So look, cake making, from a box, it’s not my thing. I tried to salvage it into cake balls (per a suggestion on Instagram, which I thought was a great one). Unfortunately, let’s just say that didn’t work out either.
So life gave me cake, and I tried to make balls out of it. And since neither of those options worked, I threw it all away, and moved on. Because sometimes, you’ve just gotta move on to bigger and better ideas. May 2014 bring you much bigger, and much better than before! Cheers!
